Our volunteers are at the heart of our organisation. Their skills, commitment and generosity help us deliver community programs and activities that address the underlying social, economic and environmental causes of health inequality and deliver meaningful health and wellbeing outcomes for our community.

We also support placements and internships for students studying a range of studies at the University of Wollongong as well as the UOWx program.

Volunteer with us

Whatever it is that motivates you, we offer volunteer opportunities that make a real impact.

From fair food, healthy eating and cooking skills to walking programs and after-school youth programs, our positions suit people from all skill levels, abilities and commitment levels.

We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people living with a disability, the LGBTQI community and people with neurological differences.

We strive to offer flexible volunteer opportunities for parents, youth and mature age workers. Please reach out if you need additional assistance to get involved.

All HCI volunteers are required to submit a Working with Children (WCC) Check. Applications can take between and one and four weeks to process so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

To apply or to get more information, visit the Office of the Children’s Guardian website. The WWC check is free for volunteers.
