Healthy Cities Australia Named Major Beneficiary of the 2025 Illawarra International Women’s Day Prize

We are pleased to announce that Healthy Cities Australia has been named the Major Beneficiary of the Major Prize 2025 at Illawarra International Women’s Day! With $15,000 in funding, we will be working with SAHSSI to deliver a Cook Chill Chat program for their clientele.

Cook Chill Chat is a social inclusion program designed to build cooking skills, improve healthy eating knowledge, and foster connections in a supportive environment. This funding allows us to extend the program to SAHSSI clients, creating meaningful opportunities for women in need.

Additionally, we are proud to use part of this funding to support the 4th annual Illawarra Women’s Day of Dance and Culture, taking place at Wollongong Town Hall on Friday, 5th September. This women-only event provides a safe and welcoming space for women from all backgrounds, particularly new migrants and refugees, to share food, dance, and connect. It also introduces attendees to health and social services, helping them build stronger networks and access vital support.

We are incredibly grateful for this recognition and support, and we can’t wait to bring these initiatives to life. Thank you to Illawarra International Women’s Day for making this possible!
