Youth Volunteering Program

Our Youth Volunteering program offers previous participants who have aged out of Active In-Betweens the chance to step up as peer leaders. Young people gain leadership experience, develop valuable skills in facilitation and communication skills. They give back by mentoring and being a positive role model for younger kids in their own community. Through hands-on activities and guidance from staff, volunteers build confidence and and make a real difference in the education of younger children in the program and in educating and keeping facilitators up to date on health concerns of young people. They have additional opportunities to participate in advocacy and wider community engagement events showcasing the impact of healthy people healthy cities. It’s a great way to stay connected, grow as a leader, and inspire the next generation.

Our volunteer Alysse had this to say:

“I really like being a youth volunteer because of all the amazing opportunities and different experiences. I also really enjoy working with the kids, it’s really great to get to know each of them and their interests!”
