News Helping families build healthier digital habits – 11th February 2026 “I wouldn’t tell my mum if something was wrong on Roblox as she’ll just make me turn it off” Our recent survey with 267 adults telling us the benefits and concerns for children’s screentime plus our Active In-Betweens young people making comments like above , we knew it was time to focus on this growing area of concern for our children’s health. We joined forces with Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and Life Ed Australia (Healthy Harold!) to support families screen use, especially as technology becomes part of almost every aspect of daily life. The webinar delivered 3 speakers with practical, evidencebased ideas designed to help parents navigate screen time with confidence. The session shared simple, researchsupported but real life local practical tips; from knowing your own screen time use to choosing the platforms to watch TV to creating your family tech agreement. The format was friendly and interactive, with plenty of time for questions so families could get advice that truly fits their needs. And this is just the beginning. This event kicks off a series of ongoing webinars exploring a range of screentime topics across digital health. Each session will focus on clear, actionable strategies and open Q&A to support families in building strong, sustainable digital habits.
