11th Global Conference of the Alliance of Healthy Cities (AFHC2026)

Co-hosted by Healthy Cities Australia (HCA) and UNSW Cities Institute the conference (AFHC2026) aims to advance collaboration, research translation, and policy innovation in the field of public and urban health via the WHO Healthy Cities framework.

Themed “Healthy Cities for All: Equity, Innovation and Action” the event will bring together mayors, senior policymakers, researchers and leading practitioners from across the Asia Pacific, and will focus on advancing evidence-informed, city-led action for healthier, more sustainable and equitable urban environments.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS OPEN 

The AFHC 2026 Scientific Committee also warmly invites researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and urban health champions to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations on topics relevant to healthy cities and wellbeing for the conference. 
They are inviting abstract submissions that advance understanding, policy and practice in areas such as urban health policy, healthy environments, equitable access to services, climate and planetary health, Indigenous and traditional knowledge systems, governance and leadership, liveable cities, demographic change and health across the life course.

ABOUT THE AFHC2026 CONFERENCE

the conference will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Ottawa Charter, which was developed in November 1986 at the First International Conference on Health Promotion in Ottawa, Canada.
