RAP launch
During Reconciliation Week 2020, Healthy Cities launched our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, as endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.
Our organisation has enjoyed some great history with local Aboriginal organisations over the years, from Lake Illawarra clean ups with Illawarra Local Aboriginal Land Council in the 1980’s through to close collaboration with the Kurri Men’s Shed in Shellharbour today, and forging friendships all the way in between.
This important and strategic document provides a framework for our organisation to contribute to the healing and recognition of the Dharawal and Yuin people of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven, and all the big and small steps we can all take as individuals to help.
Our thanks to artist, Lani Balzan, for investing her cultural connections and artistic talents with us in the design of our RAP artwork, which depicts the stories of our healthy cities and the environment in which they sit.
