Stir It Up!
Stir It Up! trains volunteers to promote healthy eating in the local community by sharing practical food skills and knowledge.
Stir It Up! volunteer peer educators receive training with a focus on healthy eating, practical food ideas, presentation skills, kitchen safety and food hygiene. On completion, volunteer peer educators receive a nationally recognised qualification and are supported to deliver healthy eating activities in their community.
Healthy eating activities may include presentations at community gardens, talks, displays, cooking demonstrations, supermarket tours or facilitating cooking classes.
Since Stir It Up! began in August 2010, over 590 healthy eating activities have been conducted in the local community and have reached approximately 11900 community members.
For further information or to request an activity, please contact Ingrid or Manami on 4283 8111.
