Playpod is held on Tuesday afternoons for students in years 2-6 enrolled at Barrack Heights Public School.
The program aims to enhance the social and emotional development of children from the Barrack Heights suburb of Shellharbour, and to strengthen their connections to their community.
Playpod offers fun activities that introduce new skills and experiences including:
- A creative and performing arts program.
- Cooking and gardening.
- Physical activity.
- Introduction to First Aid for children.
- School holiday program.
- Transition program, ‘Bounce’, in collaboration with Kind Art Ed for students in Year 6 to develop communication and organisation skills and positive self-identity.
Funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services under the Families and Communities Program.
